The application should attract attention, thus being exciting, flashy and novel, and simultaneously subtle conveying the employee friendliness as well as these company’s set of values with 100 years of tradition.
Our brainstorming starting point was the puzzle Logifaces, which is known as an “Analogue Game for Digital Minds“. Thereby, players have to arrange 16 different prisms in a way that these are forming a continuous surface. The highlight: not just one right, but rather many solutions are possible. Our application was expected to encourage a similar degree of creativity and imagination. In parallel it should be a digital experience, which can be moderated and controlled by haptic elements of the analog world.
The digital components can be operated by an interactive multitouch table.
We 3D-printed special tokens, which are recognized by the screen. So, interaction has been enabled between the touch table and its users. For every Player, the concrete target is to assemble its very own dream team. First of all, you decide for a specific application, for example building an E-commerce company. Every token symbolizes a potential employee for the team, whereby he or she is described with certain characteristics, skills and strengths. If a token is now put on the screen, detailed information of the respective person appear on the touch table. In order to complete the team, all further employees – meaning tokens – have to be added in a way that a consistent surface results.
The one-to-one detection of the nine tokens by the touch table screen has been the biggest technical challenge. We developed a very special software solution based on VVVV to track every token. Appealing screen designs and animations, which react to the tokens moves, ensure a vivid gameplay with a high entertainment value during the whole session. The touch table itself is a tailor-made customization. Because of its structural design, it can be dismantled and packed in no time. Very stable flightcases make a risk-free transport possible, so that the touch table can be used worldwide just like the consultancy’s effective range.
